Prince of Peace In A Distressed World

Many people have said to me over time, that the Christian Church has caused so much harm to others. And I know this to be true in so many ways. But today, right now, many many followers of Christ all over the world are just living their lives. Doing no harm. Yet it is the actions of a few that can and have tarnished the purity and beauty of the Word of God.

I am fully aware that there have been dark times in Christian History, where people have used the Gospel of Christ to create wealth for themselves and force people to follow by force. I know that innocent blood has been shed in the name of Jesus Christ, often by God’s own people. I know that the Word of God has been twisted to justify the greedy, lustful desires of man’s heart. I know this and I am ashamed of the actions of these people, for they do not do the precious Word of God justice.

NONE OF THIS WAS GOD’S WILL, IT WAS THE WILL TO GAIN POWER IN THIS WORLD. MAN MADE NOT GOD MADE.

I am fully aware that their are some, even today, who are profiteering out of the Word of God. They live in their big houses and private jets, profiteering out from the Body of Christ. Charging people for the right to learn or be inspired of God. Seminars, Books, Teaching, Music, the list goes on. You could understand if they were only trying to cover costs of materials or even living costs maybe, but this often goes far beyond the needs of the ministry itself.

1 Timothy 6:5

Constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.

2 Corinthians 2:17

For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.

THESE PEOPLE ARE FEW IN NUMBERS COMPARED TO THE ENTIRE BODY OF CHRIST, BUT THEY HAVE A LOUD CLEAR VOICE IN THE WORLD WHERE MONEY TALKS.

There are many Christians who are living in the world and have become absorbed by it. They still believe in Jesus Christ, but they are torn between faith and the world when it comes to finances. So which are you…. truly?

Luke 12:15

And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

Luke 12:33-34

Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6:24

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

The definition of DISTRESSED is: “Suffering from Extreme Anxiety or Pain”.

The world that we live in has been in distress since Eve took and ate that fruit. Nothing has changed. Nothing is new.

The world says that one of the best ways to deal with this distress is via wealth. You will have less stress if you have more money. This would mean that those who are less fortunate financially will have more distress than others. Yet this is not the case. How many rich people have taken their own lives, suffered terrible losses in their lives, have been anxious for what will happen. MANY!

WEALTH AND WORLDLY POWER IS NOT THE ANSWER.

We will all have times of distress, regardless of our backgrounds or cultures. But if we can lean towards, trust and practice the teachings of our God, our mindset will change. We will become more content with everything. EVERYTHING. Yes it is possible. We just need to let go of our worldly understandings and adopt our faith as the only truth. This is not just finances, it is just one of every area in your life that can change, if you let it.

We are all in this together, we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. We all have areas that are needing perfecting. I hope that this message has ministered to you as much as it ministered to me. God wants us to live with peace in our hearts, ALWAYS.

Psalm 118:5-6

Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 6:25-34

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. …

Acts 20:35

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
